{"id":35379,"date":"2025-07-30T17:56:40","date_gmt":"2025-07-30T17:56:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/damwebserver.com\/dreamdoctor\/articles\/restless-legs\/"},"modified":"2025-07-30T17:56:40","modified_gmt":"2025-07-30T17:56:40","slug":"restless-legs","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/damwebserver.com\/dreamdoctor\/articles\/restless-legs\/","title":{"rendered":"restless legs"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>About Restless Legs Syndrome \u20ac\u00a6<\/h4>\n<p>Restless legs syndrome is a neurologic disorder characterized by persistent discomfort in the legs that is reduced (without medical treatment) only by movement\u2014be it through shaking of the legs, continual stretching, or by walking around to \u201ckeep active.\u201d Because the symptoms are worse at night, especially when a person tries to \u201clay still\u201d for sleep, restless legs very often interfere with efficient and restorative sleep.<\/p>\n<p>Restless legs are estimated to afflict between 3-8% of the US population, to varying degree. Restless Legs also are very highly associated with Periodic Limb Movements in Sleep (PLMS)\u2014rhythmic leg jerks that occur approximately every 20 to 30 seconds during the night\u2014that disturb both the onset and quality of a night\u2019s sleep.
